This year’s Thy Kingdom Come is all about the presence of God through His spirit.

The God who is with us in the everyday – in the joys and sorrows of life (and everything in between) and the One who, through His spirit, longs to reveal Himself to those who do not yet know Him.

There are many Bible stories which demonstrate God’s transformative presence, power and love at work in the lives of people and places – from Ruth, Gideon and Elijah to the story of the early church who waited for the promised Holy Spirit to come.

Our hope is that as we pray for our five people, they will also experience the life-changing love of God and choose to follow Him.

Thy Kingdom Come is a global ecumenical prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.

From the April Parish Council meeting:

*When the Christ candle is lit, it is hoped that folk will use the quiet time for reflection

*The recessional music at the end of the service is when the minister leaves the service.

Parish Councillors do not consider it a performance and therefore applause is not expected. If you like the music then please tell the musician after the service.

* It was noted that after paying for the hire of the EFTPOS machine at the garage sale, a small profit on eftpos sales was made for the parish.

* The Parish Council agreed to pay the registration fees for Rev Nardia and Sue to attend the Alpine Presbytery Gathering at the beginning of May.

* Did you know that when Barry cuts the grass he mows a cross on the lawn?

The Christian Blind Mission was founded by the German Pastor, Ernst Jakob Christoffel, in Turkey in 1908. His pioneering work, establishing homes for blind children, orphans and the physically disabled in the Middle East and Asia, was driven by his deep faith in God.

Today cbm continues in his footsteps, as an international Christian development organisation, working to improve the quality of life of the world’s poorest persons with disabilities.

  • We Champion Inclusion
  • We Strive for Justice
  • We Pursue Excellence
  • We Embrace Partnership
  • We Live with Integrity

Lord, You are the light of the world.

Shine your light on those who are blind,

bringing healing to their sight and peace to their hearts.

May they walk in Your light,

feeling Your presence with every step.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
